When I lie down I think, ‘How long before I get up?’
The night drags on, and I toss and turn until dawn (Job 7:4)
My face is flushed from weeping,
And deep darkness is on my eyelids (Job 16:16)
I go about blackened, but not by the sun;
I stand up in the assembly and cry for help (Job 30:28)
Yet you say, ‘What does God know?
Does he judge through such darkness? (Job 22:13)
The righteous see their ruin and rejoice;
the innocent mock them, saying, (Job 22:19)
‘Surely our foes are destroyed,
and fire devours their wealth.’ (Job 22:20)
